Microsoft’s new set of social-media-centric phones (aptly named KIN) are apparently dreadful at doing the one thing they’re supposed to be good at—managing all of your social media.

Engadget’s sharply-worded review, coupled with the fact that Verizon won’t let you have them with a cheaper-than-$30/month data plan, means I won’t be making one of these phones my next of kin.
However, these Microsoft webisodes depict an intriguing social experiment. What would happen if you met a number of your “friends” from all your social networks, in person?
I think they are excellently crafted and actually alter my perception of KIN in a good way, albeit ever so slightly.
