A report says Ford is looking to finally ditch their long-lived Mercury brand.
I say good riddance. For the past decade, Mercury has suffered from an identity crisis because the automobiles donning the Mercury brand haven’t been anything more than one of two things: over-priced Fords or cheap Lincolns.
Less niche brands + more high-quality models = success in today’s auto industry.
“Unfortunately, the brand had lost that genuine connection to it’s origin”

Really like this rustic, vintage-looking re-brand for Southern Comfort. Feels a bit like Jack Daniels—classic and original. A necessary change to steer clear of the image currently held by the brand: thousands of drunken teens pounding shots of SoCo & Lime on the beaches of South Padre Island, Panama City and Cancun.

Maybe not worst. But definitely most generic.
Look on the bright side: It could double as the logo for a Red Cross blood drive or a restaurant in True Blood.
